WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for an ideal candidate who has;
- Previous experience working as a content writer for a tech company or startup.
- Excellent writing skills in various styles and tones.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in terms of spelling and grammar.
- A solid understanding of APIs and SDKs.
- Knowledge of how to format articles for the web.
- Proficiency in using content creation software like MS Word or Google Docs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently or as a team member.
- The capability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio of writing samples
What you’ll do:
- Be a core part of the Product team working closely with engineers, product marketing, and design teams to create resources that don’t just document what the product does, but accelerate a user from basic to advanced level.
- Plan and create engaging and user-friendly documentation including user guides, tutorials, integration guides, and in-product documentation (tooltips, welcome instructions, product overview, etc.) that adhere to APIMatic’s style guidelines.
- Provide peer reviews/edits for content used by other teams and establish templates for client resources like proposals, customer emails, and related documentation.
- Regularly revise and edit existing content and documentation to reflect the latest features and changes and gather customer feedback on documentation to improve usability.
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2-3 years of experience producing technical content for user consumption.
- Knowledge of SEO and best marketing practices is a plus.
- Experience using Git and any content management system.
- Ability to write clearly with an obsessive eye for consistency and technical accuracy.
- Ability to thrive, without much oversight, in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
- A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new concepts and tools.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant fields, or equivalent experience in the specified job role.
